F.A.Q's
Here are a list of questions that we have been asked frequently to hopefully assist you in purchasing but also reassure any concerns:
What is oud?
At its core, oud is a fragranced residue that is let off when a tree becomes infected with a particular mould in order to protect itself. Examples of these trees and their woods are argarwood, sandalwood, eaglewood, amber wood and more. Once this residue is heated it becomes the natural and core component of any oud fragrance. From there those natural oils can be made into synthetics oils (replica versions of the natural oil) and/or mixed with other ingredients such as vanilla, patchouli, saffron to say the least to create specific scents. This is what we aspire to deliver at OUDerinde through providing bespoke scents.
Will I get an allergic reaction?
As the oils we use are both natural and synthetic and just oils (in our oil oud range), you shouldn't get a reaction to the skin. If by in large you do we are more than welcome to provide you money back fro your product. That is also the same for our perfume sprays that use synthetic alcohol.
How do I apply the oud oils/sprays?
The oud oils in particular can be applied to your wrists and temple points of your body - behind the ear, on your neck, the half way point of your arm and sometimes applied on your hair/head. If you want to apply oils to clothes we recommend first applying to palm of hands, rubbing in, and then briskly applying to clothes. Be aware of colour of oud staining specific colours of clothes. Our perfume sprays can be applied similarly on your wrist, behind the ear and on clothes.
Can I try the range before smelling?
Dependent upon status of availability, we offer sample card blotters of our oud oil and spray range free of charge that you can smell and use as a decision maker for yourself. Simply fill in a contact form requesting them with your full name and home address and we will get this sent out to you.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently we only ship within the United Kingdom. We are working on measures to allow us to reach customers internationally and will confirm this status as of when we find a means.
